Sorry it took me forever!
Here is the tutorial on how to make lycra winged trainer pants which can also be used as pocket nappies / diapers.
You materials will depend on their purpose.
Once you have your fabrics, you will need braided elastic or lastin and lycra for the wings. One 10cm width of lycra (150cm long) costs around $3 and stretches to 3-4 nappies.
First cut out the pattern shape on both your outer and inner layers.

This one is a Small-Medium (for around 12-18 months). It is 36cm (14") in length and 16cm (6") in width. Be sure to make the back slightly longer so we can fold the elastic under.
Zig zag the stretched elastic along the back edge.

Fold it over and straight stitch it down, stretching as you go.

Repeat with your inner layer.
Fold your first rectangle of lycra good side in and sticth the sides together. Repeat with your second rectangle. (Mine are 10cm (4") by 20cm (8"). )

Poke them out the right way round.
Lay these on the outer layer, yucky edge aligned with the edge of the nappy.

Pop the inner layer on top. So you'll see that both layers are good sides together with little lycra arms trapped inside.

Sew right around the edges, leaving the back pocket open. Be sure to trap the lycra in your stitches.

Sew elastic on the leg area and the underbelly, zigzagging and stretching as you go.

Trim off any extra fabric and you'll have a one-of-these:

Flip it inside out, and pop snaps on the 2 corners of each wing, the on the 2 matching edges of your diaper and there you go!

All done!
You can stuff these with any absorbent fabric, cotton, microfibre, hemp, bamboo etc.
An extra bonus is that you get 3-4 of these from a standard nappy cut, making them very economical.
Hope that makes sense! Feel free to ask me to clarify anything. :)
I made this one out of bamboo velour and a poly PUL.
I got my PUL from http://www.diapercuts.com/
A big thank you to Leanne at The Nappy Network for the inspiration. :)

And you know how I keep saying we need to make a booking for another set of photos? Well I do mean it and we've decided we need to soon so what's the best way to arrange it? I just printed off some of the ones you did last year to add to a photo wall I'm doing in my 'office' and oh wowee are they so lovely! Need more!
Leah AKA Flea :D
So going to have to try and make one of these when I start my nappy making addiction... in approximately 20 hours. (Essay due at 5pm tomorrow)
Love the PUL print!!
